In March of 2015, Jones International University (JIU) announced to all students, faculty and staff that it would cease operations after graduating the Class of 2015. The closure comes after 22 years of dedicated service and JIU’s delivery of high-quality postsecondary education to thousands of students around the globe.
At this time, JIU is no longer accepting new students. Please review this page carefully as it contains important links and information for former JIU students.
From 1999 through February 2016, Jones International University (“JIU”) was a fully online university headquartered in Centennial, Colorado that was regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (“HLC” or the “Commission”). JIU was approved by the Commission to offer Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Specialist and Doctoral degree programs in the fields of business and education.
On March 31, 2015, JIU announced that it was winding down its operations in accordance with a formal Teach-Out Plan approved by the Commission and filed with the U.S. Department of Education (the “USDOE”). JIU subsequently resigned accreditation from the HLC in February 2016.
JIU has entered into a formal transfer agreement with Trident University International that will provide all JIU students with individualized, custom learning plans and the opportunity to transition their studies to Trident University.
Trident University serves thousands of students and offers four doctoral programs with 12 concentrations, eight graduate programs with 42 concentrations and six undergraduate degrees with 29 concentrations.
